JOURNEY

Bold, autobiographical landscapes that examine the duality of a journey, where the act of looking back becomes a way of moving forward. Based on sketches from a car window, theses hurried observations have evolved into meditations on movement, memory, and the geography of belonging.

As an immigrant, Tan acknowledge the undulating nature of moving away from one’s home: the excitement, the profound solitude, and the invisible threads that connect us to those we leave behind. The solitary figure on the foreground—a dark silhouette against the vibrant chromatic horizons—embody the loved ones who continue to watch over from afar; their presence both both distant and deeply felt.
